Course content
(in Cooperation with an ECAC Member State Aviation Authority)
During this course, junior Ramp Inspectors join senior Inspectors during the performance of actual SAFA & SACA ramp checks. They will observe the inspections of the flight deck, safety equipment in the aircraft cabin, checks of the cargo compartment and walk-around verification of the aircraft technical condition. Due to the nature of this OJT, participation is restricted to a limited number of junior inspectors. This OJT comprises of two phases:
Phase 1 – observation phase: during this phase the trainees will accompany and observe the Senior Inspectors when performing a series of 6 ramp inspections (including the preparation of the inspection and post-inspection activities: reporting, follow-up).
Phase 2 – supervision phase: during this phase the trainees will gradually start to perform a total of 6 ramp inspections, under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Inspector.
Course objective
Observe actual execution of Ramp Inspections; understand the inspection performance criteria; view interface between inspectors and flight/cabin crew; knowledge of how to apply relevant procedures and checklist; full understanding of how non-compliances are administrated and communicated.
Course benefits
By observing experienced and senior inspectors, this intense and focused on-the-job training provides junior Ramp Inspectors the opportunity to learn first-hand how to conduct inspections on foreign/community aircraft.
Dates
To be decided in close coordination between participants, the ECAC Member State Aviation Authority hosting the on-the-job training and Ciconia Aviation
